Metropolitan cover design

I'm currently working as the Art Director at Barcelona Metropolitan magazine. We are over half way through 2013 so I decided to do a blog about our cover designs so far. Each month we feature a photographer, illustrator or painter on the cover and also showcase their work on page 6. It has been great to work with some very talented artists in the city.

The brief: We are looking for an interesting view of something in Barcelona. Your unique take on the city. Something that captures your eye and has visual appeal. Obviously Barcelona, people, action shots, Catalan traditions/festivals, local food and drink, street scenes, something happening on the street, trendy, street art...

Halloween decoration

While I was searching for recipe ideas for Halloween I came across this easy and effective Halloween decoration from Martha Stewart.
1. Cut out bat shapes from black card.
2. Make a small hole in the center of each bat with a tack.
3. Poke a piece of thread through each hole, and knot it.
4. Tie the bats to a found branch (painting it black is optional).
5. Then hang the branch from two pieces of thread secured to the top of the window with flat thumbtacks.

Love it!
